One of the most popular reasons to come to Gayletta's Photographic Studio & Gallery is to participate in our Seasonal Specials.  Six times a year, our Master Photographer Gayletta puts her considerable talent toward creating wonderful portraits that make it easy for everyone to create memories of their children's growth, document special seasons and events and get plenty of portraits to keep grandparents, family members and friends involved in your life.

Great care is taken to create backdrops and sets that are beautiful, original and engaging.  Each set is created specifically for the season and is developed with a keen eye to detail, color, and design. Sets may vary from year to year.

Participating in our specials is easy and fun.  In fact, it is so popular that almost half of our Special customers come to nearly every special!

1. First, check this website for the specials that are currently open for scheduling, or review the newsletter which you should get twice yearly. (If you are not on our mailing list and would like to be, or need to update your address, please fill out our Mailing List Request Form.)  Be sure to read our guidelines below.
   
   
2. Once you've decided which special you'd like to participate in, you may schedule an appointment by calling us at 409.727.4988.
   
   
3. When you arrive for your appointment, you will register at the front counter, select your package, and pay for it in full. And the best part of our specials - there is no session fee!  Master Photographer Gayletta will then take several shots until she's certain she has a good portrait, and she and her staff will select the very best for your package.
   
   
4. The portraits will arrive in approximately 4 weeks. After the staff inspects them to be sure they meet our high standards, you will be called to pick them up.  Since they are paid for in full at the time of your session, there's nothing else to pay!

Some Special Information

• Valentine Special - 1997

  How much does it cost?
  Special packages start at $57 and include the most popular sizes.  Dance Recital Special packages start at $25. There is no session fee for our Seasonal Specials. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, Mastercard, Visa and Discover.
  
  
• How many poses will I get?
  Your package will include one pose.  That is, one specific portrait will be selected to fill your package.  If you desire additional poses, changes of clothes, combinations of people, or perhaps a full-body portrait and a close-up portrait, you may request this when you order an additional package or an add-on, and the second portrait will be used to fill the second package or add-on. 
  
  If you need more than one additional portrait, you must schedule additional sessions to accommodate the time involved.  Please be sure to mention this when scheduling your Special appointment.
  
  
• When can I see the backdrop or set?
  Since the Special backdrop is set up in our studio, we build it the day before the Special starts.  We will be able to describe Gayletta's vision to you prior to that time, but it will not be ready to be viewed until the first day of the Special.  At that time, we will place a sample portrait at the front counter for your viewing.  Please refrain from visiting the studio to get a "sneak peek" the day before the Special starts.  Our staff will not be able to show you the work in progress, as we cannot guarantee that what you see will be the finished product.
  
  
• What should I wear? And can I change when I get there?
  We generally give a few suggestions for clothing selection here on the website or in the newsletter.  Each special backdrop is geared to show off the most popular clothing styles or colors for the season, but there may also be other types of clothing that would look especially good with this set. However, if you have questions, feel free to ask our staff what they recommend. 
  
  

  Christmas Special - 2002

  Please arrive for your appointment a few minutes early, and be fully dressed.  If your children need to change clothing, you may use the dressing rooms provided; however, you will not be called to the studio for your portraits until you have informed the staff that you are completely ready.  This helps us keep you and our other customers on time. Out of respect for the other guests and our furnishings, we ask that you do not use hairspray in the lobby.
  
  
• I arrived on time, but I had to wait!  What gives?
  We make absolutely every effort to stay on schedule.  However, if your party is not complete when you register or if you have to change clothes, we will allow others to take their portraits while you are waiting for your party or changing clothes.  When everyone has arrived and is fully dressed, we will then put you in the queue for your portraits.  This helps to ensure that we stay as close to on-time as possible.
  
  
• I have a baby.  Should I do something special?
  If you have a small infant, please schedule your appointment for a time when your infant is normally awake and happy.  Happy infants take great portraits!
  
  
• Can I bring my dog/cat or other pet?
  Pets are welcomed; however, they must be kept outside until you have been called to the studio for your appointment.
